Fabric of Life 2024

Fabric is an interweaving of many different strands of thread. The thread itself is comprised of many different fibers twisted together. “Fabric of life" paints a metaphorical picture of life, some threads go in one direction and the others run perpendicularly to them representing the times that life goes our way and other times when we face adversity.

Symbolism is used through the fabric with reference to the facets of everyday life and the creative pursuits of the people in my life, a designer chair, a cello, an architectural home, and drone are featured in the work. References to the garden (my happy place), travel and family day trips to explore the Australian bush land can also be found.

Abstract Expressionism

The freedom of technique with a preference for dramatically large canvases, and a desire to give spontaneous expression to the unconscious. The artist suppresses conscious control over the making process, allowing the unconscious mind to have great sway.

About the Artist

Received an Honourable Mention in the Art and Colour Magazine International Open Competition 2024

"In the 1990s while living on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, I commenced art training at the Chisholm Institute with a focus on Fine Art, in particular mixed media and old school Graphic Design well before it all became digitised. A career of creative roles ensued within both the advertising and TV Post Production industries where I ustilised my graphic design and photography skills.

Always drawn towards creative work environments, for the last 15 years I have been working in the Interior Design / Architecture industry. Life has now come full circle and I am now revisiting my passion for contemporary art, in particular Abstract Expressionism."
